The Best Free VST Effects - Glitch / FSU:
Audio production software for mastering, mixing, and music composing:
The Glitch VST plug-in by Kieran Foster (dblue) chops up your audio in real-time and applies a variety of effects to the signal. It has an adjustable length (64 steps max) effects sequencer, and comes with 16 custom pattern banks. Glitch operates with 32-bit internal precision, and is equally good at creating "glitchy" electronic beats as well as individual samples. A must-have plugin!!!
Granular Delay line
KTGranulator by Koen Tanghe is a free VST granulator effect. Incoming (mono) sound is fed into a delay line from which small pieces of various durations are selected. Each of these pieces is then amplified, transposed and enveloped to form a "grain". Each grain is then randomly panned and the whole mix is sent out to a stereo output stream.
FXJockey is in essence a Multi-FX plugin controlled by multiple LFO's. It features pan, filter, bitcrusher, phaser, grains, flanger, pichshifter and delay effects. Put it all together and you have complete FSU madness. This baby will smash your beats up in no time!
Radical FSU plugin
The free Lost Technology VST plugin by Transvaal Audio is a radical FSU effect capable of some serious audio destruction. The Lost Technology plugin basically splits the incoming audio signal into amplitude, frequency and waveform (harmonic content), fucks up the audio, and combines the sub-signals back together in new ways. The homepage of Transvaal Audio has ceased to exist, but you can download the VST plugin at a mirror site. Just download the zipped binary file at the top of the page...
